Welcome to the East Cape
The
EAST CAPE is a large, quiet area on
the East side of the Los Cabos area,
filled with lots of small towns, mountains
and beaches. The East Cape is probably
best known for its famous diving and
windsurfing, as well as the Cabo Pulmo
National Park that includes protected
forested desert and underwater "aquariums".

Since
the East Cape is a good
drive from "civilization",
it is a place where people
who really just want to
get away from it all really
can. It's quiet, almost
"back in time"
feeling really are something
special and rare to find
these days.
Surrounded
by the mountains to the West,
you can find natural cascades
and waterfalls, ancient cave paintings,
even fossils of whales and sea
life several hundred feet above
sea level. The little town of
Santiago offers the only zoo in
the state. The town of Los Barriles
offers some of the most famous
wind surfing conditions.
The
East Cape area starts just North and
East of the Los Cabos International
airport. Most of the area is along
the Sea of Cortez, and has access
from Highway 1. There is an old road
(the best views are from this road)
starting in San Jose del Cabo that
follows the Sea of Cortez around north
to the little town of Buena Vista
and Los Barriles.
